Privacy without the creepy bits.
This Privacy Policy explains how Builder of Things Studio LLC ("Builder of Things," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in Reimagine: Camera Chaos ("Reimagine"). We designed the app to keep ordinary camera use local and to make online photo processing a separate, deliberate choice.
On-device camera features
- Looks, Frames, Live Effects, camera games, face landmarks, expression signals, and ordinary rendered photos are processed on your device.
- We do not receive camera frames, face landmarks, expression signals, or photos created with those local features.
- The app cannot browse or import your photo library.
- A photo is added to Photos only when you tap Save. Nothing saves automatically.
- Nothing is shared unless you tap Share and choose a destination in Apple’s system share sheet.
Optional Reimagine processing
Reimagine’s online transformations are optional and available only to people age 13 and older. Before the first upload, the app asks for an age range and shows a photo-processing notice. We do not ask for or store a birthday.
- When you deliberately continue, the clean photo you just captured and the style you selected are sent securely to OpenAI to create a result.
- We record the selected age band and accepted notice version on the device and with each generation request for compliance and audit purposes.
- We also keep operational records such as request and account or anonymous-grant identifiers, selected effect, model and prompt revision, status, moderation outcome, timing, provider cost, and credit debit or restoration state.
- OpenAI does not use API data to train its models by default. Under OpenAI’s standard API data controls, abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days. OpenAI may retain data longer when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect its services or third parties.
- We privately retain a successful submitted original and result for recovery for no more than seven days, then automatically delete them. A failed or moderation-blocked original is normally deleted within 15 minutes.
- If you choose to report a result, any still-available original and result are included automatically for case-scoped review by authorized support staff until their existing expiry. Retained photos are not used for general quality testing, prompt development, or model training.
Accounts, credits, purchases, and support
Reimagine can be used anonymously for a limited trial or linked with Sign in with Apple. We receive an Apple account identifier, not your Apple password. We keep server-authoritative credit balances, verified StoreKit product and transaction records, subscription status, device-bound App Attest and DeviceCheck anti-abuse records, and hashed audit references needed to operate purchases, restore balances, prevent repeated trial abuse, investigate support cases, and meet legal or accounting obligations.
If you contact support or submit an in-app report, we collect the category, optional note, account and transaction context, case messages, and any still-retained generation media automatically included by the report flow. Please do not email us a private photo unless it is genuinely necessary and you are comfortable doing so.
Small first-party usage metrics
To understand whether the app works, Reimagine sends a bounded first-party event stream to Builder of Things Studio. It includes a random app-install identifier, app and session starts, selected mode, effect, and frame identifiers, capture, save, and share outcomes, and coarse failure categories.
These events do not contain photos, thumbnails, camera frames, face counts, landmarks, expression signals, filenames, prompts, share destinations, advertising identifiers, precise location, contacts, or free-form error text. The random install identifier is not an advertising identifier, is not used across apps, and is not connected to your Reimagine account.
Service providers
We use service providers only to operate Reimagine:
- OpenAI processes photos and selected transformation instructions to create Reimagine results.
- Cloudflare provides hosting, private object storage, databases, queues, security, and delivery infrastructure.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple, StoreKit purchases and subscriptions, App Attest, DeviceCheck, Photos permission, and the system share sheet. Apple handles information under its own privacy policy.
We do not authorize these providers to use your information for their own advertising or cross-app tracking.
Retention and deletion
- Successful Reimagine originals and results: no more than seven days in our private storage.
- Failed or moderation-blocked originals: normally no more than 15 minutes, unless included in a support report before deletion.
- Raw first-party usage events: up to 180 days. We do not retain an IP-address history for this event stream.
- Account, generation, purchase, credit, fraud-prevention, support, security, and deletion-audit records: only as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, prevent duplicate grants or abuse, resolve disputes, and satisfy legal, tax, accounting, or security obligations.
Deleting a Reimagine account signs out linked devices and removes or revokes the Apple link, active sessions, device keys, reports, and retained photos. Minimal purchase-ledger, deletion-audit, security, and abuse-prevention records may remain for the limited purposes above. Remaining credits are deleted and cannot be recovered.
Children and teens
Reimagine’s online transformations are not available to children under 13. People age 13–17 must confirm that they have permission from a parent or guardian. Under-13 users may continue using the app’s on-device camera features, which do not send their photos or face-tracking information to us. If you believe a child under 13 submitted personal information through Reimagine, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
No ads, tracking, or biometric identification
Reimagine has no advertising, third-party tracking SDK, public profile, social graph, public feed, remote face recognition, persistent face template, face embedding, or facial-identity database. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for cross-app tracking.
Your choices and requests
You can deny Camera or add-only Photos permission in iOS Settings, decline Reimagine’s online processing notice, reset the saved age and photo-consent choice, manage or cancel Reimagine Pass in Apple’s subscription settings, sign out, or delete your Reimagine account from Credits & Account.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, or to appeal a denied request. Contact us to make a request. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where legally permitted or required. Because anonymous usage metrics are not connected to contact information, we may be unable to associate a request with a particular anonymous record.
Security and processing location
We use encryption in transit, private storage, access controls, device and request authentication, short media-retention windows, and audited case-scoped support access. No system is perfectly secure. Reimagine and its providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate, subject to applicable safeguards and law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Reimagine changes. If an update materially changes online photo processing or consent, the app will present the updated notice before the next Reimagine upload.
